Lymfoida celler, även kallade B-celler, verksamma i det humorala immunförsvaret. B-cellerna är kortlivade och bildas i stora mängder i människokroppen. De har fått sitt namn pga likheten med celler fr ån fåglarnas bursa. Vid stimulering producerar B-cellerna antikroppar, dock endast av en sort, som sprids i kroppsvätskorna.
Lymphoid cells concerned with humoral immunity. They are short-lived cells resembling bursa-derived lymphocytes of birds in their production of immunoglobulin upon appropriate stimulation.
