Antikroppar som hindrar reaktionen mellan antigen och andra antikroppar eller aktiverade T-lymfocyter (t ex IgG-antikroppar som konkurrerar med IgE-antikroppar om antigen och därmed blockerar ett allergisvar). Blockerande antikroppar kan binda till tumörer och förhindra att cytotoxiska T-lymfocyter förstör tumörcellerna.
