Förhöjda nivåer av prolaktin i blodet, vilket kan vara associerat med amenorré och galaktorré. Vanliga orsaker kan vara prolaktinom, medicineringseffekter, njursvikt, granulomatösa tillstånd i hypofysen, samt störningar som motverkar hypotalamus blockering av prolaktinfrisättning. Även ektopisk produktion av prolaktin kan förekomma.
Increased levels of PROLACTIN in the BLOOD, which may be associated with AMENORRHEA and GALACTORRHEA. Relatively common etiologies include PROLACTINOMA, medication effect, KIDNEY FAILURE, granulomatous diseases of the PITUITARY GLAND, and disorders which interfere with the hypothalamic inhibition of prolactin release.
