Ett paragangliom som drabbar glomus jugulare, en mikroskopisk bildning av kemoreceptorvävnad i bulbus venae jugularis adventitia. Tumören kan ge förlamning i stämbanden, yrsel, attacker av medvetslöshet och nystagmus. Den är inte operabel, men strålbehandling ger god effekt, och permanent kontroll uppnås oftast, trots att tumören långsamt återkommer.
A paraganglioma involving the glomus jugulare, a microscopic collection of chemoreceptor tissue in the adventitia of the bulb of the jugular vein. It may cause paralysis of the vocal cords, attacks of dizziness, blackouts, and nystagmus. It is not resectable but radiation therapy is effective.
