Ett antibiotikum med anticancereffekt från Streptomyces parvullus. Det binder till DNA och hämmar RNA-syntes (transkription), där förlängning av kedjan är känsligare än början, slut eller frisläppande. Till följd av nedsatt mRNA-produktion avtar också proteinsyntesen efter dactinomycinbehandling.
A compound composed of a two CYCLIC PEPTIDES attached to a phenoxazine that is derived from STREPTOMYCES parvullus. It binds to DNA and inhibits RNA synthesis (transcription), with chain elongation more sensitive than initiation, termination, or release.
