En autosomalt dominant, ärftlig, partiell epilepsi som debuterar vid 3 till 13 års ålder. Krampanfallen är typiskt förknippade med parestesi och tonisk/klonisk aktivitet i ansiktets nedre del, tillsammans med dregling och dysartri. Episoderna uppträder vanligen nattetid och kan bli sekundärt generaliserade. I de flesta fall är de drabbade barnen neurologiskt och utvecklingsmässigt normala. EEG visar typiska, skarpa högspänningsvågor över de centrala tinningsområdena, vilka är mer uttalade vid dåsighet och sömn. Krampanfallen brukar normalt upphöra mitt i tonåren.

An autosomal dominant inherited partial epilepsy syndrome with onset between age 3 and 13 years. Seizures are characterized by PARESTHESIA and tonic or clonic activity of the lower face associated with drooling and DYSARTHRIA.
