Medfödda missbildningar av det centrala nervsystemet och angränsande vävnadsstrukturer som beror på ofullständig tillslutning av neuralröret under graviditetens första trimester, vanligen under dagarna 19-29. Ektodermala och mesodermala missbildningar (främst av skallen och ryggkotorna) kan uppkomma som en följd av bristande tillslutning av neuralröret.
Congenital malformations of the central nervous system and adjacent structures related to defective neural tube closure during the first trimester of pregnancy generally occurring between days 18-29 of gestation.
