Allosteriska enzymer som reglerar glykolys och glukoneogenes (nybildning av glukos). Enzymerna katalyserar fosforylering av fruktos-6-fosfat till antingen fruktos-1,6-bisfosfat (fosfofruktokinas 1-reaktionen) eller till fruktos-2,6-bisfosfat (fosfofruktokinas 2-reaktionen). EC 2.7.1.4.
Engelsk definition
Allosteric enzymes that regulate glycolysis and gluconeogenesis. These enzymes catalyze phosphorylation of fructose-6-phosphate to either fructose-1,6-bisphosphate (PHOSPHOFRUCTOKINASE-1 reaction), or to fructose-2,6-bisphosphate (PHOSPHOFRUCTOKINASE-2 reaction).
