2,3-dimetyl-7-oxabicyklo-(2.2.1)heptan-2,3-dikarboxylanhydrid. Ett giftigt ämne från skalbaggen spanska flugan (Cantharis vesicatoria) eller skalbaggar av släktet Epicauta. Det blockerar proteinfosfat as 1 och 2A (PP1 resp. PP2A). Ämnet orsakar svåra hudinflammationer och är extremt giftigt vid förtäring. Syn. cantharon, kantaron, kantaridin.

A toxic compound, isolated from the Spanish fly or blistering beetle (Lytta (Cantharis) vesicatoria) and other insects. It is a potent and specific inhibitor of protein phosphatases 1 (PP1) and 2A (PP2A). This compound can produce severe skin inflammation, and is extremely toxic if ingested orally.
